What changes in September 2026

Starting September 1, 2026, all VAT-registered businesses in France must be able to receive electronic invoices. Mandatory issuance will follow progressively based on company size.

This reform, enacted through the 2024 Finance Act, aims to:

• Combat VAT fraud
• Simplify tax reporting obligations
• Modernize B2B transactions

The Factur-X format: France's standard

Factur-X is the format adopted by the French tax authority. It's a hybrid format:

• A human-readable PDF (the classic invoice)
• An embedded XML file readable by machines (structured data)

This format complies with the European standard EN 16931 and enables interoperability with certified dematerialization platforms (PDP).

The Junyr Suite's Factur-X engine — hybrid PDF + EN 16931 XML generation, structured tax data, and the bank-reconciliation pipeline — is built and tested. The final piece, certified transmission and reception through an Approved Platform (Plateforme Agréée), is in active development: we are integrating a SecNumCloud-certified PDP so your invoices flow to and from the public directory exactly as the reform requires.

This e-invoicing reception/transmission capability is in development and not yet operational — it is not, today, a compliance guarantee. We will announce it here the moment it goes live.

Our goal is simple: have you covered before the 1 September 2026 reception deadline, with nothing for you to install.

If you're still on Excel, Sage, or EBP, our assisted migration (on quote, free until 30/06) imports your existing data — clients, invoices, products — so you'll be ready to switch on e-invoicing the day it ships.
